Can I get picked up and dropped off at different locations before and after my lesson?
Yes. Drive To Excel can arrange different pick-up and drop off locations, in order for school, work and other activities to be accommodated.

How many hours of practice driving is required before I can sit my licence test?
Before you can attempt your P1 driving licence test if you are under 21, you must log at least 120 hours of supervised driving practice, including a minimum of 20 hours of night-time driving experience. If you are over 21, there are no minimum hours required but it is best to get as much driving practice as possible.

What do I need to do in preparation prior to my first driving lesson?
Along with obtaining your learner permit, you also need to study the Road to Solo Driving handbook, whilst gaining experience on the road behind the wheel. Any extra hours of supervised driving experience with a fully licenced family member, friend or professional driving instructor is also recommended to help you reach your goal of obtaining 120 hours practice. You also need to learn about the hazard perception test.

Am I covered by Insurance?
Absolutely. It is vitally important when choosing a driving school that you know that you are covered. At Drive To Excel, we are fully insured and all our instructors have passed police and working with children checks. Rest assured we have you and your safety covered every time you get behind the wheel with us.

How do I pay?
Payment can be paid directly to your instructor by either; Cash, Online or EFTPOS on our mobile terminal.

How many lessons do I need?
It all depends on you and your confidence levels. However, if you have clocked up 120 hours of driving and just want road confidence before getting your license, we recommend having 5 lessons as a minimum to ensure you have adequate experience across different scenarios.

All day, every day – call anytime. If we’re out on a driving lesson, we’ll call you back as soon as we can.
